Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi

Today land into Jomo Kenyatta International airport met with your driver guide and given complimentary safari hat BEST way to start your African safari in Kenya, and given a welcome basket as you head to your hotel. The drive to your hotel, 25 minutes’ drive away from the international arrivals

After check in have an optional time at leisure experiencing the hotel facilities

Day 2: Lake Nakuru

Breakfast at the hotel
After breakfast, and proceed to Lake Nakuru National park, have some leisurely stops along the way for some magical rural views

Later proceed for an afternoon game viewing drive in the park
Lake Nakuru National Park
Lake Nakuru is among Kenya’s finest national parks. Flanked by rocky escarpments, pockets of acacia forest and at least one waterfall, the park is gorgeous year-round and is home to both black and white rhinos, lions, leopards, hippos and endangered Rothschild’s giraffes. Rising water levels in 2014 forced the park’s famous flamingos to flee (although a small number had returned at the time of research), and the lake is now hauntingly surrounded by drowned trees.
The lake supports a dense bloom of the blue-green Cyanophyte Spirulina platensis from which it derives its colour. It is a food source for flamingos. The lake is fringed by alkaline swamps with areas of sedge, Cyprus laevigatus and typha marsh along the river inflows and springs. The surrounding areas support a dry transitional savanna with Lake Margin grasslands.

Day 3: Nakuru – Masai Mara

After a safari briefing, you shall then proceed to Maasai Mara via The Great Rift Valley view point for some breathtaking views.
Arrive later in the afternoon in the Mara and check in at the Governors Camp

Governors Il Moran Camp: Hidden under ancient trees deep in the forest, are just ten tents which line the winding banks of the Mara River. Dark chunky wooden tables contrast with oversized blue couches and a central, colorfully beaded chandelier, while tribal portraits and African artefacts are dotted around.
Maasai Mara Game Reserve
The world-renowned Masai Mara National Reserve is a huge expanse of tawny, sunburnt grasslands pocked with acacia trees and river woodlands, and heaving with animals’ great and small. Impressive at any time of year, it’s at its best between July and October when a million migrating wildebeest and tens of thousands of topis, zebras and other animals pour into the reserve from Tanzania in search of fresh grass. It is, arguably, the most spectacular wildlife show on the planet and the one thing that no visitor to Kenya should consider missing.
Reliable rains and plentiful vegetation underpin this extraordinary ecosystem and the millions of herbivores it supports. Wildebeest, zebras, impalas, elands, reedbucks, waterbucks, black rhinos, elephants, Masai giraffes and several species of gazelle all call the Mara home. Predators here include cheetahs, leopards, spotted hyenas, black-backed jackals, bat-eared foxes, caracals and the highest lion density in the world.

Day 4: Masai Mara

After your breakfast, met by your driver guide and proceed on your game viewing experience in the reserve with picnic lunches.
Masai Mara Game Reserve provides the necessary requirements to house a wide range of animal species. The most recognized are known worldwide as the African Big 5 which includes the African Elephant, Cape buffalo, Rhinoceros, Leopard, and the King of the beasts, the Lion. The term Big 5 was coined by big-game hunters as these species were the most difficult and dangerous to track and hunt. Subsequently the term was adopted by the tourism industry for marketing purpose, spinning a web of positivity opposed to the negative effect portrait by the original terminology. Numerous other species of bird and wildlife inhabit this dynamic location including Hyenas, Gazelles, Impalas, Giraffes, Zebras, Vultures, Cranes, Eagles, Falcons, and Ostriches.

Day 5: Maasai Mara – Entebbe – Bwindi Impenetrable

Early breakfast at the camp
0745hrs – proceed for a drop off at the airstrip for your scheduled flight to Entebbe with a stop in Kisumu for immigration procedures – flight departing Mara at 0845hrs.
1130hrs – arrival into Entebbe for a connecting scheduled flight to Kihihi (Bwindi National park) to arrive at 1430hrs for onward transfer to the lodge for check in and late lunch
Afternoon optional activities:

• Community or village walks
• Forest walk

Day 6: Gorilla Tracking

Bwindi is one of the 2 places in the world where you can find Mountain Gorillas!
Gorilla tracking!!! Early morning departure with your ranger to search for one of the world’s most interesting and endangered animal, the Mountain Gorilla! You will spend one hour with one of our closest relatives. An experience you will never forget.

Day 7: Bwindi Impenetrable – Ishasha

Relaxed breakfast and later drive to the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Game drive in the afternoon in Ishasha in search of the tree climbing lions
In Ishasha there are 4 prides of lions that climb the trees. Unique in the world! The other attraction of Ishasha is the Topis, not found anywhere else in this National Park.

Day 8: Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast we drive, to Lake Mburo National Park. Game drive or optional boat trip on the lake in the afternoon at an extra cost paid direct. In the evening we make a night game drive with high chances of seeing leopards.
Lake Mburo is one of the 2 national parks with zebras and the only national park with impalas in Uganda. There are no elephants and lions, so walking safaris are possible.

Day 9: Lake Mburo – Entebbe Airport

After breakfast, enjoy Game drive or game walk in the morning. On our way back we can make a stopover at the Equator for photos, lunch on own account. Transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
